I don't know what kind of religion suppresses it's believers - Islam towards women is unfair...so unfair...i wish it could be possible to change it... :(

What the taliban do is not Islam, its their own fucked up version of it just like those messed up mormons in the middle of no where are not christians.

yes taliban and islam are different but still - i don't support any religion which does not treat everyone equally - christianity included

but you do know that the qu'ran (islamic bible) does not force people to do anything
most of it is recomended ( the hijab, head dress and such)
its the culture, the people them selves who take it to literaly, same goes for christianity and homosexuality
i know so many muslims who are fine with not wearing the head dres
and so many christians who are fine with gays
or are gay themselves
so, dont blame the religion.

i wonder why religion is most common reason for arguments...
however even the laws are based on religion..no woman can enter the country not being accompanied by a man...and why??
and still - inside the church - in rome or whatever - none priest who is not against homosexuality will be supported..

were formed around religions - it's good that most people are getting away from it because all these 'laws' divided/still divides societies (not in a good way)

christianity did for many centuries. and still do suppress women in a few sectors... lets not feel too superior.

our judgemental western arrogance and ignorance dosn't, won't, and should not presume to "help islam."

islam will change eventually, and is slowly recognizing they need to becoz of the many brave islamic women (and men) pushing for change. not becoz of our loud mouths.

it is not islam that is unfair it is the people who have made it like that because of thier own i dea's and beliefs , islam is a very fair and open religion :)
