There is NOTHING fair about the fair tax! Do your research because the full explanation is to big to fit in this paragraph! Besides, its also not a conservative view point.

Ok partner, you win this one. I will do more research.

No tax system in the real world will ever be able to completely eliminate tax fraud. But don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. The current system is broke. The country has many other problems. One solution doesn't have to fix all problems. The FairTax is designed to fix one problem. That's it. Getting our elected pinheads to cut spending will be hard enough on its own. Tying them together sets up failure. There is a reason a 10 ft ladder has steps between the first and last step.

Retail businesses collect the tax from the consumer, just as state sales tax systems already do in 45 states; the FairTax is simply an additional line on the current sales tax reporting form. Retailers simply collect the tax and send it to the state taxing authority. All businesses serving as collection agents receive a fee for collection, and the states also receive a collection fee. The tax revenues from the states are then sent to the U.S. Treasury.

Actually, I think a sales tax could create an IRS on steroids. Just think of how this is going to be enforced. In order for the government to tax a transaction, they will need to track and trace that transaction. How will they go about doing this? The National ID card scheme, which is being foisted upon us in the name of "immigration control." Yet, illegals won't have IDs.

No. There is no choice in a tax. The central question is: would you pay that to the government without the government compelling you to? If you would, there is no need for the government to even create the tax. Like I said, you can choose not to spend any money to get out of the tax, which is objectively no different than just choosing to not earn the income in the first place, in which case you get out of the income.

Right, and the size of government doesn't even change, so taxation remains the same. I do realize that, which is what I reminded people of here. So, what is all the excitement about? A tax is a tax is a tax. What makes it a tax is that it is involuntary, and unfair. A sales tax is no more voluntary than is an income tax. You can choose not to buy anything and live naked and homeless. But then, you can also choose to not earn income.

Any candidate that supports the fair tax has my vote! Go Huckabee!
Well, I see the point you're making. But at least we have the choice. This could also help people be better about their spending. Of course, many people will still be irresponsible, but the choice is still there. Right now I pull in $1000 every two weeks in gross. But my net is $755. The government just takes it, period, no questions asked. At least the choice will be there. But you still make a good point.

I've been supporting Huckabee for a while now, and I will continue to do so. Huckabee is the next president of the Unites States.
