  • How can someones vocal cords become damaged after surgery like in julie andrews case? I have vocal nodules, but they aren't severe. I've been going to speech therapy for about 7 months, but it hasn't done much. Should I get surgery? And if so, how long does it take to make a full recovery after surgery?

  • @MMAFreak01 the surgeon should tell the patient exactly what they're doing. Surgery should be only on the surface of the vocal cord. If the surgeon goes deeper, there will be more scarring and more impairment of the voice afterwards. Specific questions about whether you should get surgery are best directed to the surgeon who has seen your vocal cords.
