Lesson of the day: in general, it's not wise to eat mushrooms that you've picked yourself.

Enter the rafting mini-game. I wasn't planning to translate the directions at first, but since there's a title for Veigue at stake, I figured it might be useful for some of you guys. Oddly enough, I didn't receive the Rafting Man title when I finished the mini-game this time, but I also opted to carry over my titles via the Grade Shop so that might be why it didn't pop up. Although it didn't stop the game from giving me titles earlier that I already had...*shrugs*

And some of Eugene's lines looked like they were swiped right out of Detective Conan (aka Case Closed in the US). Maybe it was intentional?

  • Tytree drank the poison too!? That's kinda strange, he know that soup was drugged so he ate it to. Strange...

  • Actually, he didn't know either. The mushrooms that he thought were edible were actually those Laughing Mushrooms, so he ended up finding out the hard way just like everyone else. XD

  • You don't use honorifics? Oh well.

Some titles don't appear the second time.

  • Really, it depends on the situation. In everyday speech, I tend not to translate it because a) I'm lazy, b) the amount of space I have for subtitles is limited, c) it's difficult to translate the level of formality in terms of finding a normal English equivalent (e.g. Annie always says "Veigue-san", but "Mr. Veigue" sounds awkward to me), and d) most of the dialogue is spoken, so those who are familiar with honorifics can hear them being used even if I don't translate them directly.

  • When honorifics are important to understanding the relationship between people though (e.g. Veigue and Claire's parents), I try to indicate that in the subs. And thanks for the heads-up on the titles; this is only my second time through the game, so I wasn't aware of that.

  • ...I'd love to see Veigue eat that and laugh afterwards...

    Damn it, Namco.

  • Subbing is what we've all wanted for this game ever since Namco Japan said no to brining it here. Thanks so much for putting this up ^_^

The raft, reminds me of all the fun of Eternia

  • Eugene's Laugh. lol

  • I wanted to hear Eugene laugh D:

  • 3:06 O__O

everybody laughs and the music in that part.......

ok that was a little scary

  • I think it's biologically impossable for Veigue to laugh. the mushrooms would have no effect XD

  • Or perhaps a very out of character laugh? I have a feeling Veigue will do that. XD

  • Probably going to be an evil, gloomy laugh.

  • Its the curse of thew Laughing Mushroom xD

  • Oh.
