On Jun 8, 1962 my family left NYC sailing on the SS France en route to a year of living in Paris, where my father was to teach at a university just outside the city. We returned on the SS France in September of

1963. I still have vivid memories of the ship and all the fun I had. Didn't know it had been scrapped - I won't look at any videos or pictures of that - would rather preserve the memories. Thanks for putting together this video - it did an old heart good!

BEAUTIFULL.. thank you for this video.. We will miss her together with the Raffaello, Michelangelo, Cristoforo Colombo, Rotterdam and many other true liners.. In exchange we have this shoe boxes which called themselves cruise ships..!!!

France was a beautiful ship. More than just a ship. She was her own person, & a symbol. Whatever it takes to avenge her, I am willing to accept. This darkness may consume my soul & I welcome it. I welcome the Darkness.

France was a fine Lady. I still want to serve Ocean Liners. France will be avenge. I don't care about Pain. The world is so cold without her. When a Liner gets scrapped, it takes a part of me. If this continues, I be a shell with no soul. Saga Rose is scrap right now. I HATE scrap merchants & I always will.

France was a lovely Liner. I am Taka. I have only one goal. I....Will serve Ocean Liners. Why did Norway get scrapped?! Well, by giving myself to Ocean Liners. The scrap merchants will pay for what they did to France Norway, Regal Empress, Saga Rose & all the Liners before these with their lives!

In 2oo7-I put on my white uniform from my former crew days onboard her and started signature campaign to make the Norwegian government do something to save her.Norway likes to call themself a maritime nation,but the way they dealt with all the papers with the norwegian peoplessignatures.it was just plain sad.I hate Star Cruises for stranding her illegaly.Even worse,France government had to recall an aircraft carrier due for india bcoz of asbestos.S.S.Norway had much more asb.But she got scrapped
