There is no freedom of speech, religion or culture. Aggressively Vietnam-ized, the Khmer Krom struggle to maintain their way of life and identity. This documentary was first screened October 1, 2006 at the City Hall in the Hague, during the symposium on the Right to Self-Determination in International Law.

I had an opportunity to visit the Khmer Krom areas in Tra Vinh last year. I met the most wonderful people in my life there. I was welcomed to a Buddhist temple for tea. I felt as if I was at home. I felt even more belonging to local Khmer people than some people of my own Vietnamese race. I can testify that they were oppressed and discriminated against by the local government. There were some Vietnamese Northerners in my trip. On the other hand, I found no common with these folks at all.

Khmer does exist before Vietnamese in this land. Keep hope and thing will come around. Gods already came down from heaven. They are surveying what happen to Khmer Mohanokor. If someones tries to eliminate Khmer, Gods will provide justice to Khmer people. It will happen soon. You'll see what is going on.

In Cambodia Khmer Kroms are treated as second class foreigner.

There is no such thing as the history of khmer krom, in fact the so-called khmer krom never existed. There are ethnic khmer living in Vietnam, but they are just one of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, together they are Vietnamese. The term khmer krom is coined by a few shameful cambodian who want to claim land that does not belong to them.
