This is not only a remix, but also a tribute to Mac computers. I have them to thank to help me launch my music career. I have seen a lot of Mac bashing on YouTube, so this video is their rival. I used only Mac computer sounds to create this music remix, including the startup sounds and error sounds. The only thing that isn't a Macintosh computer sound is the drum groove. Although it is an Apple loop, so I take that back. Even the voices come from a program called Verbalize that makes use of the text-to-speech feature MacinTalk.
So how did I create this piece using only mac computer sounds? Its called sampling. The high "synth" in the beginning is a very early mac start-up sound altered to sound the way I want it to. The same is true toward the end.
What did I use to create this? Logic Pro 8 (on an imac of course).
As a little background information, Jim Reekes is the creator of the modern mac startup sound. According to him, "it's a C Major chord, played with both hands stretched out as wide as possible." In an interview he commented that it includes many different instruments and textures.
Steve Jobs would have loved this.
