CHEETAH - Will it be fast enough?

The Cheetah fights for its place in this growing world. As our populations grow, many wildlife populations are falling fast. Few have fallen as fast as the cheetahs. With 90% of all cheetahs being wiped out in the past 100 years, estimates are from a low 10,000 or so to a high 14,000 left in the wild. Numbers of wild cheetahs fall every day due to conflict with farmers for land, as well as the losing battle for prey and territory against hyena and lion.
There are a few places in Africa that will have visitors pay to play with baby cheetahs, but be sure to support those organizations that just dont say they are going to one day release cheetahs into in the wild, but have done so already.
Using cheetahs for outreach animals here in the U.S. is debated by conservationist.
One thing is for sure, the wild cheetah needs our help fast. Some may say it is too late, but we should try to save what we can and the habitat that is needed for their survival. The best way to save any of Africas great predators and its prey is by protecting the land.

people who hunt these beautiful animals truly have deep psycholgoical issues...i dont see the sport in sneaking up on an animal and shooting it while it is unaware of your presence..maybe they think it makes them tough...i guess a gun makes these hunters feel that way..whats funny is that without a gun, the weakest of africas predators can kill any human in seconds....we are one screwed up species!!! .....thats my take on it at least

It has nothing to do with natural selection / evolution. Cheetahs are near extinction because of human ignorance and greed. Cheetahs are the most successful hunters of all big cats and would not be threatened to near extinction if not for man. This isn't a "natural process" it's fucked up and needs to stop. Unfortunately populations are so low it might be too late. It's not just Cheetahs but all big cats.

You have obviously never met the peregrine falcon. +200 mph in a dive in the middle of your face would certainly kill you. Any of these animals has the potential to be deadly. I would prefer to watch them from a short distance, and leave them undisturbed.

leopards, hyenas, lions, and crocodiles do not count as "weak" predators, for the strongest. The weak ones would be animals like, baboons, cheetahs, jackals, wild dogs, etc. None of them could kill a human in seconds. And smallest couldn't harm us (Aardwolves, lizards, hawks)!
