If this is really in 1932, then why was artistic gymnastics still at the "handstand on the beam" stage or even less around that time???

@CoryClark13 not necessarily. while yes, body position and tension are way out of whack, you do have to remember that it was all learned and performed without the springs of the modern gymnastics floor, nor the aid of the training facilities available nowadays. If you actually want a fair comparison to nowadays, compare him to freerunners/trickers who perform on grass etc, like the 3run channel here on youtube. their stunts aren't much more impressive.
