Excerpts from the Vaughan William's Tuba Concerto 1st movement, Berlioz's Hungarian March and Symphony Fantastique, and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries.

Here's a little info about me. I grew up on a dairy farm near Mildmay, Ontario, Canada. As much as I love home, I decided to move to Montreal a couple years ago to study tuba at McGill University. I am currently in my third year of a B.Mus.

Sorry for the buzz in the audio (I'm still working on getting rid of it). Comments are definitely welcome!!!

  • The first horn you played, was it a BBb 4/4 and the second a CC 4/4?! I'm trying to get better at distinguishing between horns, so I pray I made a correct observation here!

  • @jugulaur Nope, actually the first one is an F tuba (a PT-10 model); you're right on the second one though, it's a Kalison CC Darryl Smith model!

  • Hey Erin,

    Bravo!

    Great job!

Brass- Greetings from a german trombonist

  • @MrVuvuzelaman Thank you! and greetings to you too from a Canadian tubist! :) (but, just so you know, my name is Marshall; Erin, who posted below, is my friend! No worries though)

  • is you kalison ds really flat? mine is just wondering

  • This is really good. You should post it on the Musical Overture site so more recruiters and conductors will see it.

  • do you still have these files if so please send them to me

  • Hey it's Erin :) FANTASTIC JOB!!! I "liked" this video and I will tell my friends to do the same!!

  • I think it's difficult to tell how your sound and articulation is due to the buzzing :(

  • Make sure you dont rush at the end of the march. and keep the length when you are moving up chromatically. Other than that, it was excellent! The best I've heard so far. I especially liked the length of most everything. The beginning of the march was amazing. Everything was full value!!

Good luck to you! You have my vote!
