@PearlStrat09 this song is about POT and about the massive depression that comes after you've been having way too much for way too long (been there, done that). if you knew anything about Nick Drake, you would know he has dedicated several of his songs to it. he has also dedicated songs to other individual drugs, e.g. cocaine blues. hence your interpretation of this song being a general statement about addictions is as moronic as the previous ones that said it was about cigarettes. FUCKTARD!

Who is this? Ive had it on my favourites for ages and nver knew who the singer was!

@PearlStrat09 then again, he mentions opium and hash directly. I'm with you on the wider interpretation, but the narrow interpretation is right there. so cool it.

@lotanish Mattias Hellberg from Sweden is it singing. Together with Martin Hederos on piano. Hederos & Hellberg, check them out.

Don't know what y'all sayin'... and it does not really matter when U hear this great version... Can anyone tell me who the fuck is it singin'?
-
its about smoking to much weed (which nick Drake did) fyi

Awesome. But... why is there no mention or credit to Nick Drake here??? Either in the video, or video comments or tags... seems a bit strange. Like Hederos & Hellberg are trying to claim credit, but I know thats not the intention :)

I actually feel kinda bad when i look at the picture in 0:15 because it reminds me of Jackass. I still appreciate the music whilst viewing it

@PearlStrat09 THANK YOU.... stupid asses
Ok, i've had enough of stupid "anti-smokers" comments. I'm gonna break it down for you:
Don't you think, the artist is NOT refering directly to the act of smoking? Don't you think that maybe, maaaaaaaaaybe he's talking about any addiction, that you can't recover from, because you've been too long on it?
Yeah, a song about the regrets of having smoked cigarettes in your life. That makes a lot of sense. Fucktards.

captures the fatalism and deep sadness of Robin Frederick's great blues. Nick Drake would have been proud.
