On November 15, 2008 a wind driven wildfire ripped though the brush filled hills of Corona, CA. Over the course of the next 10 days, the fire would quickly burn through the valleys and hills of 4 adjacent cities including Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, Chino Hills, and Diamond Bar before being fully contained. The Freeway Colmple fire was certainly the largest, most powerful wildifere to tear through southern california in the year of 2008. In 10 days, the fire burned 30,305 acres, destroyed or damaged over 400 buildings, injured 14 firefighters, and prompted well over 40,000 evacuations. Nearly 90% of the 12,500 acre Chino Hills State Park was burned by the blaze.

  • This fire was awesome... not in the sense it was cool, but so giant and overwhelming. Seeing a plume of smoke still injects that feeling of anxiety into my system.
