CNN's Anderson Cooper quizzes Pastor Robert Jeffress, "Mitt Romney - Mormonism a Cult?"

Evangelical pastor Robert Jeffress stole the Friday news cycle with his comments that Mitt Romney, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was a "non-Christian" in a "cult"-- shortly after having introduced Rick Perry as speaker at the Values Voter Summit. Jeffress elaborated on his comments last night to CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview where he argued Catholicism defied the New Testament and suggested President Obama's "purported" Christianity was not enough to sway his vote.

I think that most people call Mormonism a cult because they are told to obey the Prophet without question. I hope you can see how people would find this a bit scary, especially since the older Prophet taught some awful things, interracial marriage, apostasy, adultery, were punishable by death. Joseph Smith took on a 14 yr old wife when he was 37. He sent took a man's wife while he was on a mission, which is said to be adultery. You own big buildings, but keep it secret/sacred. It's kind of culty
