Viyangoda and the monks who talk did not say nothing about the destruction done by JVP to Buddhism. JVP did use yellow robe to did all the dirty works and they responsible to deteriorate discipline among monks. Most of the monks today don't know how to explain Buddhism.They just take few lines of "Gatha" or story from "Jathaka Potha" and preaching the same thing as they did centuries. Monks need to learn Buddhism especially philosopical side and preach to our people.
