Passing around the Hat

I've been documented, recording, and publishing photos of this amazing queer performance community in London since 2007, working at Wotever, Duckie, Eat Your Heart Out, and anywhere I can talk myself through the door. The photographs are always available online for everyone, freely given.

As you might know, I had all my photography gear (camera, lenses, flash, cables, cards) stolen in Jan 2011. I was, as usual, photographing and documenting the queer performance community in London, when someone took my bag.

This has been a devastating loss, loosing my shooting kit, especially as I couldn't afford insurance this year. My family has loaned me money to get replacement gear, but we are all well in the financial hole with this loss.

I know everyone is skint at the moment, and the current climate is rough for all but a few very lucky people.

I'm handing around the hat, so I can keep on photographing this amazing queer performance community we have in London, because this is the most important thing I do with my time.

If you can put in the price of a pint, a shot, a glass of wine, that is all I ask. I know many of you have offered me drinks over the years (only to be bemused by a request for soda water).

P.P.S I need some £1500 to replace what was stolen. If by some miracle of generosity this is surpassed, any surplus will go to the queer performance groups, Wotever, Eat Your Heart Out, Queer Belgrade, and Jet and Josephine.
