Just realized that Pearl Jam's initials are "P.J.", same as Nick Cave's greatest love, P.J. Harvey! :) Coincidence, yes, but cool nonetheless! :)

@Mare4694 You do if you're Concrete Blonde, buddy.
-
I wish Johnette and Nick had been there to sing alongside them! :)

@youknowsheshalfcrazy watch martha wainwrights version and you may change your mind about that

Never heard this beautiful song with less emotion. Listen to the original by Nick Cave (at Songwriter´s circle); then you know what I mean. This song doesn´t work on guitar at all.
Btw, saying Nick Cave is an unknown artist is like calling Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen just two old men with hats. Cave is a brilliant songwriter.

have a look at martha wainwright's version!!! this is WOODEN by comparison with her's, this one seems like a bit of early morning guitar strumming fruppery to me.

WHY?, I find myself asking this question when, well ANYONE (but especially a band of this lesser talent),lower than any cigarette butt Mr.Cave has crushed decide's to perform ANY SONG By Mr. Cave and The Bad seeds-SO JUST DO THIS S-T-O-P! When you think you should cover ANY SONG by Any or All of Cave & Seeds & Co.!Just STOP, and ask yourself "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? Then turn away from the Mic, put your instrument of Torture down, and LET Nick & the Bad Seeds, sing this ONLY!!! No, JUST STOP!

@johnq4ward RE: Your allusion to Nick Cave as a "lesser/otherwise unknown" artist:
You DO realise Nick IS a living ICON of the underground/punk/goth music scene, and has been for many decades, don't you? His records might not have sold anywhere near the quantity of Pearl Jam's, but nevertheless he's almost up there with Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed and Co. in terms of influence on other artists.
-
@satarnag Nick Cave would surely dispute the "goth" tag, but I know what you mean - when it comes to both Nick AND Pearl Jam/Eddie. Most people never seem to pick that up tho, so good call.

I have a couple of things to say about this performance:
a) I didn't knew of it's existence, pretty cool song.
b) I love the informality in this 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
c) This song remind me another great song, Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren".
A great portuguese singer made a cover of this song and I loved it, the cover and the original.
