@CZroe you do realize most new harleys come with plates that are not fixed. The models that come factory with a side mount fold out of the way for when u store your bike.

@crashcx Except that it is illegal even in the states where vertical plates are legal because they have laws requiring the mount to be "fixed" due to some flipper plates being designed to conceal the plate.

@tdneVmo this is for folks who live in a state where it is legal to have a number plate mounted vertical but often travel to states where it is not legal.

Most states also say that the mount must be fixed so the people don't attach plates with velcro to remove while illegally parked or so they don't install illegal electronic flippers.

I just cannot see how this is supposed to work.
You can't read the subtitles in a movie, if the screen is flipped 90 degrees?
And if you meet the cops, do you then stop the motorcycle, go around and flip the plate?
