@hypernetikVirus Its based on some stuff Ed Gein had done, he only killed women and wore their skin as a full costume, not only a face. He was based on the movies Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Though I wouldn't doubt that there is someone who tries to be like and act like Leatherface.

@polina379 Yes, this film completely ignores the events of part 2. Interestingly enough though, Caroline Williams' character Stretch from part 2 makes a cameo appearance here as a reporter on the trail of Leatherface. The fourth film is basically a sendup of the first film and shouldn't be taken seriously at all and i enjoyed it for what it was.

So let me get something straight. Is this chainsaw movie like a Halloween H20 thing, were its the 7th film in the series but they ignore most of the previous installments?

So, in the original 'Chainsaw franchise' only the movies Chainsaw 1 and Chainsaw 3 happened?

and that gay 4th film was just some fucked up drunken bullshit, inexplicable 90s remake!
