the reason is because artists like Bill Withers actually had to suffer quite a bit to be able to sing like they did. most artists today havent suffered crap. it makes it damn hard to buy into all the fake "emotion" in the songs. in Bills Song here, i can hear it...and feel it.

we will never see talent like this again. ever. this is a fact.

@rebbeccanne you just stupid

@rebbeccanne Your Fucking Retarded
-
@rebbeccanne that is an extremely ignorant statement, speaking for other people and how much suffering they have endured, as though it is some measure of character, shows how little you know about society and music
-
You act like you're so caring while using the term 'negro people'
-
@rebbeccanne You are either really young or REALLY confused. Let's just listen to great music without all the bullshit please.
-
@rebbeccanne before you said that dumbass statement, do you know that alot of the blacks sold to slavery ina frica were by other blacks. did you know that rebecca?
-
26 i knows, i guess he really did know lol.........
-
@AdamVagiles and today any black person has the opportunity to be or do anything they want in this world. im sorry if you get offended by this but i see everyone as equals and by people being upset about all that slavery and stuff that went on when nobody on this earth was alive for then obviously they dont see themselves as equals. so by not letting it go all people are doing is carrying on those memories and times and making things harder for everyone.

I think the negro people are the only ones who know what pain and hurt really is. I mean as far as being kiddnapped and sold into slavery. What a few whites did was a shame and the people who are at fault ought to have there thingys cut off or be hung by them....Rebecca

@rebbeccanne try telling your absurd statement to the victims of the holocaust and that's only for starters.

@revup67 You are right. I am sorry. I didn't think about the Jewish. The reason I didnt name them is because I have never heard of the jewish having (soul). In fact I haven't heard of a jewih person being a singer? Please correct me if I am wrong....Thank you for your remark....Rebeccanne

@rebbeccanne Sorry but your music limitations are rather apparent. Let's start with Amy Winehouse. A white Jew that sang soul. You can also sort through this list of blue-eyed soul singers (jewish or not) to take you out of the stereo typical mind set that only blacks can sing soul (go to wikipedia and search blue eyed soul - there's hundreds

@revup67 go easy ... seems pretty obvious that the span of fact is limited, but also that rebecanne noticed the suffering ... @rebbeccanne there are many classes/groups who have suffered and *i* think that one of the things that makes this music beautiful is that it doesnt claim suffering for one goup, but sings freedom from suffering for all groups based on that understanding

@zazunzas - yes I would agree however this song is about a love suffering (nothing else), not whiplash or a lynching which is how it was portrayed by rebecca. She publicly sunk herself especially on her second comment with the Jewish community creating her own self destruction with or without any other user commentary.
