Rupa

Well this is an old animation project I did for my father while I worked for his company in Bangladesh a two years ago. He wanted me to come up with a concept using a social theme that is relevent to South Asian issues. Well I think violence against women is really a universal issue, but is really much more blatant in third world countries since the laws aren't really enforced against it. I wished to do something a bit experimental to get the message across. The name "Rupa" mean silver in Bengali. And the idea was that silver is much more undervalued than gold.

OMG! I feel so bad for just spotting this but I must admit that I truly this! It's a wonderful piece and although the culture is made evident, the message is definitely universal. It was put together beautifully and I hope that it's made a difference.
