Cleaning our City

Raising my two daughters, I learned a very important lesson and it is that the personal example is worth much more than words and lessons. Of course, when we talk we exchange ideas and I as a parent have the chance to give my children information about important issues, but when they see these lessons put into practice, they memorize them for life!
The latest initiative of the Create-a-Smile Ministry team was to help clean the city we live in, so that Stara Zagora would become a more desirable place to be. We, of course, took with us our children, and after we presented the idea to the Director of the Bulgarka Home for Children, she said that 40 kids from the orphanage will also come to join us.

So, after we had designated the place - a nice park near an artificial lake in the end of the city, we headed towards the place. Everybody started going around the place and picking the trash from the ground in big bags. It was a lot of fun... and no doubt hard work as well...
That day we all learned a lesson - God has created the whole Universe in order and has given it beauty and our task is to preserve it. We have to be aware of our surrounding nature and as Christians we should give example to the rest that we can change our environment for the better. I truly hope that my children were able to learn this lesson as did all of us who were there!
