I live in SF, and I from what I see is that he has lost respect from the majority of the people living here. He has spent the city's money on unnecessary things, and he has done NOTHING to help the people here. The only reason why he won another term is because the other person who ran against him was from the Green Party, and no one from that party wins elections. He has become one of the BIGGEST douches around, and I can't wait until this term (his final one) is OVER!!!

Newsom is an embarrassing failure as a politician and as mayor. He is interested in his own aggrandizement and nothing more. He's a self centered, self seeking opportunist. He will get eaten alive during the race for governor. There are plenty of skeletons in his closet and when they come out, he will disappear into the sunset with ignominy and shame. He is a colossal attention whore who is about to lose what little power he has left. Good riddance!

Newsome is not so much walking away as he is running from one particular pesky reporter. The rumors of the mayor's drinking are legendary, but so are the rumors spreading fast of the reporter's unrequited man crush on this public official. Word to reporter: He's just not into you.
