I recorded an 80 measure drum pattern using the drums from a Roland SH-32. Mono out into the SWR Mini Mo. The SWR has killer analog distortion and a fat analog bass synth section that tracks your playing really well. That's a different story with the drums - so it ends up sounding like a dirty envelope follower. Obviously the Mini Mo was not intended to process drum loops - and that's the beauty of it!

The eventide pitchfactor can do it, although it is a $500 pedal. It tracks perfectly & does crazy harmonizer sounds as well as other classic synths (fuzz/synth i.e. synth + square wave, etc.). I just used it in a 4 hour session today.

Now that they've been discontinued you can pick one up on eBay for about 1/2 off! (they typically go for around $500 while I paid over 1K for my Mini Mo' new). At that deal, I may pick up a second for safety's sake as the preamp is so very much a part of my personal sound.

great video. im all for distorting the drum loops. i'd love a synth effect that properly tracks my playing. but i haven't got 2000 to spend. all the stompboxes that say they do it, can't.
