Grapplefest first tournament for "Submission Sundays"! A great tournament to bring grapplers from all island to participate in this event to challenge their submission skills! I think these guys are throwing this tourney every two months to keep up the grapplers drive to excel, the perfect opportunity for all who want to push their submission talents to the max! ~www.explosivehands.com

  • arnt you suppose to put the hand on the back of the neck and not the top of the head during the rear naked choke?

  • Yes, you should never put your hand on top of the head to prevent the hand fights, Marc says that in the beginning, but not really in the back of the neck, I guess depending on what feels comfortable to you and most effective. How I apply it is my hand is behind the head and my head blocking and resting on my own hand preventing the opponent from trying to grab my hand

  • Marc says to "put your chin on the opponents head to help push the neck forward, but I still prefer "slipping" in the choke to apply it and the ol' "sleeping" on my pressure hand for final submission.

  • Sorry, I had to actually apply the choke: if I'm using my right as my choke arm, I slip my left behind and across the opponents neck (as far as I can reach) and I rest my neck on my left hand (or wrist depending how big the neck, lol!). You are right, choke hand behind the neck but main pressure behind the head. Sorry. Aloha!

  • Yeah..we do that too but instead of putting my chin on the opponents head to help push the neck forward,we duck our head to prevent any punched landing to our faces while we place our forehead on our opponants head

  • That's a great tip! Much Mahalo's! Hey man, you should sign up with us at EXPLOSIVEHANDS(dot com) and post some comments and tips! We welcome all martial artists, hence our saying: Not M.M.A, but A.M.A. ALL MARTIAL ARTS COMMUNITY ;) If you're in Hawaii, check out the first annual MMA, Sports and Fitness Expo at the Blaisdell Exposition Hall at the end of this month (June 27,28,29 2008), you can check the details on our site. SPREAD THE WORD!!! ALOHA!!! ~Roy/ admin2

  • BJ would tool this troll.

  • Dan Severn to Wolverine - KobraKai 101

  • He's no better than a lot of other grappler's that i've seen. He's certainly not the best. But his attitude and the way he talks about fighters makes him a pussy. You don't talk shit about the way someone does something if you don't have the balls to do it yourself.

  • Look, mark laimon is a good coach and grappler. period. He keeps up to date and cares about his students getting better. Yes, he kinda has an abrasive attitude sometimes but most bjj black belts do. Sorry, thats happens alot. Anyway, he is a student of the game and gives his opinion and if you disagree, then disagree but don't throw stupid little insults at him. He is a grappler not an mma fighter and is a really good coach. I know from first hand experience.

  • comparing a rear naked choke to ww2 wat a prick

  • The constant hate on Laimon is ridiculous. Many people are basing their opinion on a three minute clip on a reality show. I personally think that Laimon seems like a cool guy (albeit a bit outspoken), and even the haters watching this video have to agree, Laimon's is a damn good teacher.

  • this is awesome a really gud way to keep ur opponent from standing to marc laimons the man
