The biggest, baddest boss ever faced in a game, Black Rabite from Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2)! I show how to get to him, and the tactic in how to beat him (he reacts to any negative spell or tech on him, and heals himself with dark magic if you aren't prepared). As to why I didn't die at that one time Black Rabite chained some nasty spells, both Angela and Duran were casting (the char gets to finish the spell if 'dead', but dies right after; Angela got healed before she cast though so she lived).

  • We'll not risk another frontal assault. That rabite's dynamite.

  • Easiest way to get "???" and "weapon/armor" seeds. At the ancient City Pedan. Go west at night and the first screen you enter there will be a battle consisting of either a guardian/boulder or papa poto/great rabite. Always kill the poto or guardian first. Great rabites drop the "weapon/armor" seeds and the boulders drop the "???" seeds. Close to an inn and overall decent training. I prefer this spot because there are only 2 enemies decently seperated making it easy to kill the right enemy last.

  • Wow. Who would have thought such a harmless looking critter like Black Rabite could be so angry and tough.

  • @Drudain17 Same thing happened to me except I used the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Instant kill!

  • This is boss is easy if you use the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Kills it instantly.

  • you are unlucky, man

  • @acastillo999 Try playing it high? Just a suggestion. haha ;)

I've always loved this game, even though it's really long. Don't make them the way they used to, that's for sure.

  • @BasilZero I'm sure there's a good SNES emulator for the DS. There's even an actual fan-made cartridge that works perfectly on an actual Super Nintendo.

I think the biggest problem people would have with an official release, including me, would be a different translation which would be worse than the one we currently have. That being said, the Chrono Trigger DS release has a wonderful translation.

  • Spectacular boss death animation is spectacularzxczxczxcwawat

  • Just use a shade statue on him. Kills him nearly instantly. Worked twice for me... glitch?

  • Honestly, I don't know why I don't like this game too much. It plays well, the music is good. I find playing this game to be a chore for some reason.
