  • Absolutely. This method makes for a much faster render of animations

  • Hello, I'm designing a coil system wrapped in a bowl that has a radius bottom and i think i should use a spring or spiral but i dont know how to manipulate the radius of the spiral...I understand messing with the vertical or spring rate but not inside diameter of the actual spring diameter. thoughts?

  • I would google SolidJott and go to that website and ask as it would be your best resource and I could explain better there.

    Ben

  • Once you have done the sketch close it. You cannot do this while the sketch function is acitve

  • I am traveling the next couple of days if you go register and ask at SolidJott (dot) com you could get an answer there quite easilly. They are all familiar with the cast as well. All free and there is a SolidWorks plugin to put SolidJott into the solidworks environment to make help easier

  • My pleasure. All I ask in exchange is that you spread the word about my podcasts and solidjott.

  • Can you animate the spring in motion study? Or anything that could actually save the animation into a file?

  • Hey! Thanks fot the tutorial. However, I cannot move the spring in the way that the different parts remain parallel. How can I do that? Do I have to create any axes? it is not explained in the tutorial.

  • I never thought of doing it like this, very nice.

  • hey, how can i align the springs, in the final assembly? i don't understand how to do that

  • before this i used spiral to make spring...but this step is easier, thanks dude!

  • Nice, I call this realtime active in editing mode (not sketch mode) rather than rebuild frame by frame in animation .

Anyway, use surface sweep rather than solid to save graphics processing!

  • Thank you SO much! This helped so much in rendering the valves on an engine!

  • I can never copy an object in SW. Whatever I do, Ctrl+C, it would say This item cannot be copied to the clipboard. I thought Behnt hit Ctrl C too and it worked!!! What did I do wrong?

  • @UESDB Activate "instant 3d" (i big button right obove)
