DWI News Conference - Sgt. Steve Chao 11.09.11

In an attempt to curb the increased number of fatal crashes, the Arlington Police Department has implemented a DWI Task Force. The effort began Monday, October 31, 2011, with more Police Officers patrolling the major highways and most-traveled roads in the city. The increased staffing includes all evening shift Traffic personnel, Traffic Officers from dayshift, uniformed officers from each of the 4 Patrol Bureaus and Special Investigations Division detectives. The Task Force is scheduled to run through January 1, 2012.

Tina Reese spoke at Wednesday's news conference about her experience losing a son when a drunk driver ran a stop sign and crashed into her car. DWI Sgt. Steve Chao and Officer Stacie Brown commented on the enforcement and education of the DWI Task Force being conducted by the Arlington Police Department.
