I agree with this. We must change how the money is made in the health care system.
I plan on MAKING procedures and new health measures. I plan on becoming a pioneer, I'll take the revenue hit if it means inexpensive PREVENTATIVE health care to ALL.

Don't get me started on what My insurance was charged when I just went to the doctor for a check up.
-the funny thing was on that day the computers were down, so all they did was weigh me, and check my blood pressure, then the doctor spoke to me for 2 seconds -then they sent an insane bill, which was suppose to go to the insurance company
(Let's just say you could get one of those new plasma's and still have enough left over for a blu-ray player and a few movies) -completely ridiculous..

You are always right on! Doctors order tests from testing facilities in which they have a financial interest. You pay, say, $75 to see the doctor, who orders $500 in tests when he's not sure what you are sick with, and the testing facility pays the doctor a dividend on earnings over expenses, like any good capitalist enterprise. The doctor owns 1/20th of the testing facility, so gets another $3 on every hundred dollars of testing fees. You really paid the doctor $90.
YOu said it. For-Profit Health Care Is Sick. It is also inhumane, costly, torturous, sadistic, awful, unfair, robbery, murder.

Wow, I never thought about the healthcare issue this way. You make a very good point by comparing doctors to policemen. Way to go, Stranahan!
