KTVU California Open Carry

KTVU sat down and did an interview with me for about an hour and then followed me to a meet-up of other Bay Area open carriers. Much was left out of the final piece and one part taken a bit out of context, but on the whole it was neutral. I'm surprised that they did as much research on the topic. They explained about %80 of the "gotchas" we have in California. I made references to case laws and mentioned that most of us would prefer Concealed Carry but I guess that was taken out in the interest of time.

just a clarification, the "automatic weapon" they are talking about at the obama rally was a semi automatic rifle and not fully automatic as the piece suggests, its basically nationally illegal to own automatic weapons, except in Kentucky and one other state i think...

@Takiado its illegal to open carry pistols since Jan 1st 2012!!!! dont do it!!!!! you can still open carry a rifle or shotgun. must be unloaded though

i like how the news broadcast said they showed up "with automatic" guns. it is statements like that, which are fact less as the rifle shown was clearly a semi-auto rifle, that create the image of criminals in movies mowing down their victims to the uneducated. I blame the media for painting a bad picture of lawful gun owners exercising their feedoms.
