Welcome remarks by Dr. Shirley McGreal, Chairwoman of the International Primate Protection League at the Animal Rights Conference 2009 in Los Angeles with introduction by Kim McCoy.
Dr. McGreal has been awarded the Order of the British Empire for her service towards the protection of primates.
FARM presents the worlds largest and longest-running national animal rights conference! Held annually since 1981, this four-day conference serves as a forum for sharing knowledge, reporting on progress and educating. The conference features nearly 100 speakers from around the world, educational videos, networking events, free exhibits to the public, vegan food and compassionate shopping.
FARM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, public-interest organization, advocating plant-based (vegan) diets to save animals, protect the environment, and improve public health. They operate from the nation's capital through a network of volunteer activists in all 50 states and two dozen other countries.

Thanks, Dr. Shirley for all the work you do for primates. We should never forget the importance of monkeys who are used much more than the great apes in trade and laboratories.
