Taliban spokesman interviewed in America by NPR - Part 3 of 5

Taliban spokesman Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi went to America in early 2001. He went there for negotiations on different issues. National public radio (NPR) of America interviewed him during his stay there. He was asked many burning questions like


1.Why Taliban are against education of women?
2.Why Taliban destroyed the statues of Buddha?
3.Why Taliban do not allow women to go on jobs?
4.Why Taliban expelled BBC reporter from Afghanistan?

i ask the americans how come the afghan women still wear niqab in american controlled area's ?? BECAUSE THEY WANT TO WEAR IT i am getting tired and angry of kuffaar saying that taliban FORCE women to wear niqab...

@TurkishMujahid if you want solution, we need a middle ground. the taliban cannot have all of the afghan government, but they should get to have a party in the government like every one else.and can be voted as the leader of different parts. but no violence. the problem with the taliban is not the violence against american occupation,i can understand that,but the violence even during peace if they dont agree with someone(like during 94-01) you cant deny that women were denied education by force

@TurkishMujahid the truth is that the afghanistan people dont want a country with all of the charachterisitics of american democracy an freedom, they are culturally not matching. but thy also dont want the form of afghanistan that was under the taliban. the support for the mujahedin you see now is becuse america is staying there for 10 years and the war has lost meaning. dont forget that most people cheered when the americans came in the first place and kicked out the taliban.

@TurkishMujahid it is because they live outside of the compound and their family is outside of the compound and they are afraid of coming out of the compound. if they dont wear the negab, they will have problems in the streets, but they will not be hurt while next to Americans,but u know, it is the culture, not so much the taliban that is making this. the problem is that taliban make every one do this even if they dont want to. not all women wear the niqab or want to wear it.
