  • Normally, I would look down my nose at something like this, but I am a big M. Jackson fan, this was performed quite well, M. Jackson did much for humanity and for the world, so I have no complaints: Only compliments, for a touching performance and musical ingenuity.

  • Rob ridgell is the best thing that happened to trinity church and me! He is the best... Wish you the best in minnesota mr. Ridgell!!!

  • Whyever not? It's a perfectly idiomatic piece of contemporary organ music - in fact it could have been written any time in about the last 50 years. It's just that the actual main themes are from popular song.... even Bach did that, mixing his secular stuff with his sacred stuff.

  • Brilliant!! (But I agree...NOT service music)

  • i just came from a concert where Mr. Ridgell volunteered his musical knowledge and expertise to teach underprivileged immigrant children. they sung a wonderful program of holiday and religious music. reading negative comments about his musical choices seems so parochial and small. Mr. Ridgell is a wonderful person, and we can all learn something from his commitment to music and philanthropy. so, suck it, haters. suck it long and hard.

  • Michael Jackson on the pipe organ? Do us a favour...how did you know when it was bedtime in Michael Jackson's house? When the big hand touched the little hand :-)

    Sorry, not my joke.......................

  • And furthermore who are you to criticise the church? Tell me, who would do all these charities? And the kind of you church critic is just stupid! I'll show you: So many human beings did such cruel undescribable things but I'm sure you do not feel ashamed being a human being. And finally, please tell me: Who did/does better than the church?Who?! Is it you?

  • @MarcelJ4nssen If you were interested in real church music, you would know that the range of liturgical music is so wide and divers that there is no reason to be bored. If you are bored then you don't know the music. And psalm is not psalm; the are billions of possibilities to play/sing a psalm.

I feel sorry for your short sightedness! I never said this is bad music but it doesn'T fit for worshipping God. You would also knever sing church hymns during rock concerts for good reasons...

  • @Episcopalcriticiser I feel sorry for you being short sightedness. To begin with: Roman Catholic the onlye true church? I am raised roman catholic myself but I don't relate to it anymore. The roman catholic church is the most old fashioned, evil churches in origine of all. Do you know your history? And do you feel proud to be part of that church?

I think this is amazing. People are getting bored by only psalms. Or do you also dispise the visitors who actually seems to enjoy it?

  • I'm organist myself. I do really feel ashamed to hear such things in church. A service is exclusively for worshipping God, NOT for entertaining an audience. You are not worth the robe you're wearing! I'm roman-catholic (so the ONE TRUE CHURCH!), we would never accept shameless, respectless things like this. I feel sorry for the episcopal church, especially for this parish and this comedian...ehm organist, having lost God out of sight!
