Elvis covered this tune but this is the original version by the songwriter himself, Lloyd Price. On the Specialty Label. Please pardon the scratch in the first 30 seconds or so. Not the best condition but I'm still glad I got it to play for the video. This is a 1940's Sears Silvertone Crank style Victrola record player. It's the model that courting couples would bring on their picnics. No electricity needed! I saw this same model in an episode of M*A*S*H* when Hawkeye was examining one of those Bombshell Nurses... More 78 classic records on video coming soon.. I have the Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan, Woody Herman, Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, BB King, Artie Shaw, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, Les Paul w/Mary Ford, Muddy Waters, Big Bill Broonzy, Lightnin' Hopkins and lots of old Swing Era records... Stay Tuned!

  • Playing a rare record with a steel needle. Moron.

  • @gjamieson78 Read the comment I wrote to "Jackass" above. Over 3000 people have enjoyed this record now and I only had to play MY RECORD THAT I OWN one time with the steel needle for them to enjoy it. If I want to play MY RECORDS THAT I OWN with a steel needle record player one last time so they can be preserved and enjoyed by thousands of people on the internet, who are you to discourage me and judge me as a moron? Now go find a way to reduce your carbon footprint...

  • Good job destroying the record, there. Steel needles and a heavy reproducer with soft vinylite never causes irrepairable record damage, right?

  • Dear Jackass:

I own this record. I can play it however I like with whatever I like. This is not a soft vinyl record, it's a hard vulcanite 78. I'm playing it on the machine it was designed to be played on so others can experience what it sounded like before jackasses like you convinced everyone not to play their records anymore. I also made this video so I don't have to play it 1000's of times. 1,891 people have enjoyed it so far and I only had to play it with a steel needle ONE time.

  • I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.

that is very awesome i love this

  • Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm uploading alot of other records this week, some that have already become unplayable due to extensive wear and poor handling over the years so check my other videos soon.
