That house at 6:40 is on Walford Road in Sudbury, not Toronto. It's owned by Vip Palladino LOL

@LondonOntGuy -- Elgin St was always scary
-
I wonder if Elgin Street was as scary back then as it is today. xD

Love this!! I know every place in these shots.

an afterthought -- a bit before my time, but you could also go back to 1951 with the clearing of Elgin St to make way for the the Sudbury Arena. This co-incided roughly with the tearing up of the streetcar line and its replacement by buses.

It certainly carried on into the 90s, but it really began with the tearing down of the historic post office in 1959 (the site of which became Woolworths), followed by the clearing of the Borgia St / CNR station area and construction of the City Centre in 1968-1969. I agree with the ghost town characterisation

@frideswide I think the gutting of downtown came in the 90s. Now it is like a ghost town
This is wild. I am trying to figure out what hotel is stayed at...valet service. I don't think so! And it's funny that when he gets close to Sudbury in the beginning, the film stops showing the landscape.
The shots of Stop 2100 (as it used to be called) are quite groovy, haha. Great stuff!

That was the Holiday Inn at the City Centre in downtown Sudbury. I like the fact that he bought a hotdog out in the middle of nowhere. Harvey's had only one location at that time and it was in New Sudbury. Glad you like it!
