@JeremyyClarkson How were Everton possibly bigger than Barca pre 1995?
I'm sure the nou camp held more than Goodison Park, Barca won more spanish titles than Everton had english titles, Barca won the european cup in 92 and Everton never won it (I know Heysel contributed to that maybe) and Barcelona is far more renowned worldwide than Everton.
I'm completely stumped to why you think Everton could, in any way, be bigger than Barcelona pre 1995 lol
@HitMeQuick I wouldn't say Barca were a bigger club than Everton up until the mid-1990s. Forget what you see today, Barca are probably bigger than most, with the exception of Man Utd, but 15-years ago, they weren't.
Lineker never wanted to leave Everton either, I've read that in his book, the club sold him to make money because of the European ban. And he also said the Everton side he played in was far superior than the Barca side.
@LowerGwladys I think he meant Barca in '86. Even still, forget today's game, before the 1990s Everton had always been a bigger club than Barca, Barca were just big in Spain, which tbh, wasn't very hard, you just had to finish above Real Madrid...
Barca became one of the biggest clubs in the world during the mid-1990s.
How are Spurs a bigger club than Everton, you have only ever really been a cup side.. 50 years since your last league and we've won 4 since your last.
Vintage cup final from when It was a special day, and I'm a neutral. What ever the 'real' attendance that day, it was way more than the official 100,000 capacity. At least one person I've spoken to who was in the terraced ends said there feet could barely touch the ground. Stories as well of fans propping extension ladders up against the outside of Wembley trying to climb in. In hindsight (with what happened 3 years later) it wasn't cleaver, but give me that over today's blandfest any day.
He isn't a Spurs fan, first and foremost he's a Leicester supporter, with soft spots for Everton and Spurs,he said this recently in an interview with an Everton magazine. Funnily enough his last ever game in English football was for Tottenham against Everton!

Can't believe that David Pleat was commentating even then and we're still having to tolerate him now.
