La Frusta e il Corpo (Italian title) aka, The Whip and the Body, is presented in the original European edit with English dubbing, and letterbox aspect ratio.

Also starring Luciano Pigozzi, Harriet White Medine, Jacques Herlin, Dean Ardow, Isli Oberon

Original Music by Carlo Rustichelli

Cinematography by Ubaldo Terzano

WHAT, one of the oddest of horror movie titles, also contains a long list of almost all fake production credits. This film was seen little during its theatrical run, and appeared on American television in 1964 heavily edited, but still controversial partially due to the choppy editing.

WHAT features the distictive artistic perspective of director and special effects maestro Mario Bava, and ranks among his most picturesque and tense films of the 1960s. You can also witness his artistry in such recently re-acclaimed gems as PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES, BLACK SABBATH, THE GIRL WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, BLACK SUNDAY, KILL BABY KILL, HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD, and BARON BLOOD.

  • »THE FREAKING ABILITY OF A WRTITTER IS TO MAKE THE MOST UNSUSPECTING SUSPECT...

  • don;t read if you haven't seen the film yet: anatomy of a sick individual, perhaps a film only possible to have been made by an Italian, but still I can't stop feeling repulsed by the filthy masochist bitch.

  • Fantastic! Just Fantastic! Thanks!

  • Beautiful!

  • Perfect film. Christopher's voice was missed though, otherwise perfect. I'd give it five stars but you can't do that anymore - thumbs up.

  • Great classic by Bava. Thanks for posting.

  • Christopher Lee is sexy

  • The lighting, use of beautiful rich colors and textures, the ambient music and great story make this a must see. Thanks for posting
