Recorded Live at Sing Sing, Vol. 2
With This video i'm doing something a liitle different
I am dramaticizing a marvelous reading by Paquito Navarro
from the Eddie Palmieri album "Recorded Live at Sing Sing,Vol. 2".
I am taking some liberties here and using some artistic licence
to recreate the reading in a interesting way...I hope that E.P.
fans will like it and get drawn in to the one.

In 2006 thru 2009 I've looked & hoped someone would still have this album and post this poem---Gracias, my brother!! I found Felipe's "Pretty Nigger" but kept YouTubing trying to find 'Veracruz'... I used to recite this poem in my sleep...it almost mirrors my 59 yrs. on earth but not quite. I lost most of my albums from the '60's - '90's when I relocated but...I bow down to the Internet...and people like you, JohnnyNoirman---Thank You...for refueling my faith. Peace & One Love. ---Rico

Thank for your kind words..
I you can see and hear this is my special setting for this poem
I'm only who has put this so far...It's a powerful story and a powerful reading as well.
With the elimination of the latin jazz category and lack of interest in our music
This poem serves to as elegy to me now as an ode to an amazing time with amazing artists.
who gave us alot..but in the end...we let the flower in the desert ..wilt..and try out...and if not
dead completely...is slowing dieing as i speak

Yeah..i also think about the captive audience...i'm sure this story is mirrored
by the many broken lives and sad stories of horror by the inmates of Sing Sing..
This a unique way of listening to this poem..Cause even on the album.
the poem is broken up..and when you do that ..it ruins the impact of the
story. It was also a tricky experiment to combine both the reading and E.P tune.
But it worked...Am glad you also think so Louie..Thanks.
