Didn't have enough bream to bait trotline - so baited 5 yoyo's on my fishing pier. Used bream for 3 of them and got the 5 lb 14oz Channel Catfish on a yoyo on a 5' pole (see video) Had told my neighbor that the rain shower we got yesterday might make the fish move in shallow water - good guess :)

Addendum - didn't have bait for trotline but found out next day check that I had a 4 - 5 lb channel on the trotline (during the hot day) - my bad - didn't find it until it had died in the hot water / heat - bummer

  • How big you cut the bream?

  • I seldom cut bream for yoyo fishing - I try to keep the small bream for yoyo. If I do use cut bait because the bream died - I cut right behind the head so that a little bit of gut pocket is on the head piece but most of the guts are in the other piece

  • yea...that would healp..

  • Yes - grey conduit PVC - but recently I changed to longer white PVC - which makes it possible to use larger bream without them setting off the yoyo
