After Jack was nearly assassinated in 1980, the company was slowly run into the ground over the next 15 years. When I was a kid in the 80s that place was nasty! Only to menu item are left form the "old" Jack in the Box... the tacos and the Jumbo Jack.

Gawd those Chicken Supremes were GOOD!! I can still taste them. I got more people turned on to Jack in the Box by having them try a Chicken Supreme than anything else. Not sure why they abandoned them. Wish they were back.

The clown returned in 1994..but many of us remember the ad's with the pizzicato string music (late 80's-early 90's).

in 1980 the drive threw speaker was a clowns head. You talked into a clowns mouth. In their ad campaign of 1980 they blew the clown head up. The ads actually showed them dynamiting a clown head jack in the Box drive threw speaker. Two decades later Jack came back from being blown up in 1980 as the founder of the company. I guess they raised him from the dead since all you see of Jack is the head, the same one the resturant company blew up.
