Microphone is a prop. Not plugged in. I dedicate this to The Doors stunning performance on Ed Sullivan Show September 17, 1967. Jim electrified that theater for three full minutes channeling a scream from some other worldly dimension......the audience, producers, and viewers must have been scared, yet excited.......chills! The fire is burning!

"Light My Fire" was recorded in August '66 and released in June '67, on The Doors first album. It spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard's Hot 100, and one week on the Cashbox Top 100. It was re-released in '68, peaking at #87. The song was largely written by Robby Krieger, and credited to the entire band. A live version was released in '83 on their album Alive, She Cried, the first of several live compilations released in subsequent decades to include the song.

When the Doors got backstage, they learned they wouldn't be back -- ever. "The producer said, 'You promised,' and we said, 'We were so nervous, we're just boys, we've done it a thousand times, it just came out.' He looked at Morrison and said, 'Mr. Sullivan liked you boys. He wanted you on six more times. ... You'll never do the Sullivan show again.' "

To which Morrison retorted with glee, "We just did the Sullivan show."

  • @Bodomterror696969 ..........this is The Doors - LIVE instrumental version. It's on youtube somewhere without Jim singing. Don't ask me how.

  • I like the "You Too Can Play Piano" roll-out keyboard on the desk there. You took it so serious, I really thought, you thought, you were Morrison - it was awesome. Thanks for the laugh wierdo.

  • @scaldabanco357 ......Sharper Image Play "N" Roll Piano - quickly doubles as a highly affective Budweiser coaster nine at a time.
