Um, well, I didn't know who Eugene Simon was so I looked him up as said and... sexy? You are kidding? He's still a baby! Even at 19. He looks like all the other fey looking male models out there with emo hair. Maybe when he's in his 30s he'll look hotter. I'm guessing the girls on here who find him sexy are all under 25? =O) Oh, and I'm not gay, just bi... That Tamzin Merchant (Margot) looks hot in this though... anyways, whatever! =O)

@blindsunden It's bloody awful compared to the original series isn't...? And the music is just terrible and doesn't fit at all. And yeah, the Rose Beetle man was a deaf/dumb mute, it actually pisses me off watching this and knowing that about the Rose Beetle man! Why they felt the need to remake this series/book into a film is beyond me. An utter waste of effort I feel. The series was enchanting, this is just... shit!

Well said Blindsunden. You are very correct. The movie seems to "economise" a lot from certain parts/episodes of the book which are, in my opinion, central to the book.

The Rose Beetle man is supposed to be dumb and cant speak to Gerry. He and Gerry communicate through gesticulation. The more I watch of this, the more it pales to the original tv series and more besides, the book/s.
