As a native Missourian I can't believe that these comments are comming from intellegent folks! Missouri is the Gateway to the West. It is a hub for commerce with it's central location. Yes this song has racist lyrics given is time when written but to call out all people from Missouri as "Hillbillys" or worse where is that comming from? I'm from the Ozarks,born in St.Louis,Viet Nam Vet (2 tours) and I AM proud of the tricolor flag of our state and the motto "United we stand,Divided we fall.

'united we stand' .....was reffering to a SOVERIEGN STATE sticking together...NOT referring to the forced federal 'union' that was suppose to be a VOLUNTARY 'union'. There NEVER was suppose to be a large centralized govt. That is why we delared Independence from Britian. Second, there Never was a 'civil war' (look up what a 'civil war' ACTUALLY is) & border states r yankee hog wash!! my ancestors fought the 1st Revolutionary War including Kings mtn and my ancestors first came to MO in 1817.
