What a Waste! is a brand new BBC World series looking at how the world is going to cope as the demand for power and energy grows and grows. As Mayor of Bogota until 2001, Enrique Penalosa implemented the TransMilenio system, a rapid public transport system that aimed to get everyone out of their cars and onto public transport. How will his vision have fared since he left office?

  • I hate how they put Tropical music when talking about a city like Bogota, it doesn't match at all, maybe Cartagena, Barranquilla, or cities like San Juan, eh...

    whatever.

Bogota tiene de tropical lo que tiene Moscu de africana

  • It's so annoying watching this with that bloody music playing... did anyone from bbc actually went to Bogotá?

  • porcierto, no hay nada de malo con la musica tropical, los Bogotanos en sus rumbas escuchan sala y merengue...

pero lo que digo es que la salsa no es una musica de la region andina... la salsa es musica para ciudades como Cali o Barranquilla

  • @gmail9015 totalmente deacuerdo.

  • @luciferiexcelsil yeah that's right, it's not the correct representation of Bogotá

    but anyways...... BOGOTÁ LO MEJOR!!

  • @mauronaranjo actually is very good, the only thing is that it needs to be expanded... maybe re-design a some routes. it could work much better if it was better distributed. this system was made for the Bogotá of the 2000-2004, the city has changed enough to make those routes obsolete.

  • @anka3000 Yes, because Bogotá is cosmopolitan, the meeting point of all different cultures within the country and of other countries... Salsa is as Bogotan as Country Music is New Yorker.

  • @luciferiexcelsil

lol matching the stereotypes of the viewers

  • Bogotá is not a Tropical city. If you come to Bogotá, you'll find out that its weather is cold with average temperatures from 12° to 17°C.

  • You have to live in Bogotá to find out that Transmilenio system is the worst System of the world for masive transportation.
