I had a Quaker about 15 years ago that talked so well. If I said something in front of him/her even one time, within a day or two I was likely to hear it repeated. Mine really was a one person bird and I made the mistake of not clipping the wings. Usually if I went outside it would just try to tuck under my neck. One sunny day, it decided to fly, at first flew only about 100 feet and returned to my extended finger, then flew to a very high evergreen branch. Never saw him/her again.

I love this video... my quaker chowder loves to talk when he's in his cage outside.... he'll kiss and say step up and laugh with me... but not much else.... he's a riot outside though

how old is cowboy??? mine is called Alexis and he's 6 months old but sitll doesn't say anything. :-(

Cowboy was 9 months old in that video. He didn't say much at 6 months, but now he is a year and a half old and he never stops chattering. Give your Quaker some time and be really enthusiastic when you talk to her/(him?)... they pick up phrases that have a lot of emotion/enthusiasm... And obviously you have to be repetitive, but they will definitely associate words with actions like step up/go poop/seedball if you are consistent. Good luck :))

Cowboy is a sweetheart... when he gets what he wants.... If he doesn't get enough attention or if there is something near him that he doesn't like, he'll get cranky. But otherwise he is always nice and absolutely loves visitors, too.
