Guitar solos can not be recorded during live performances. They are always ruined by bad acoustics or audience racket.

Only studio performances are worth hearing.

Yes. This is an example of chamber music played in a large space, for which it was never intended. I imagine that Bach's solo and small ensemble pieces were played in drawing rooms - or Zimmerman's coffee house. I live in the Pacific NW, am a typical habitue of cafes, and fervently wish formal chamber music was the entertainment of choice, on Sunday afternoons for instance. Ian, thanks for bringing our attention to your recordings.

I replied with the details of my recordings partly in jest (although I'm delighted if anyone cares to puchase a copy!). Seriously though, I think the discussion about suitable venues for chamber music is a very interesting one. As I remember, the hall in this video is a very good one (it is quite big, holding well over 1000) but audiences in different countries treat concerts in different ways.

(2nd part to the above) Your mentioning cafes is interesting, as in some parts of the far east, many people treat performance in this way, getting up to answer their phones (as they did here) etc. I dislike it as much as everyone else, but I don't travel with recording equipment (travelling with my guitar is difficult enough) so my recorded live performances are rare (they only happen when someone else records them) and in this case I thought it was worth putting up on youtube.

You're listening to the wrong part. Hadn't even noticed until you pointed it out.

I close my eyes to listen to the music, and half of what I hear are people too ignorant to stifle their coughs. So goddamn annoying.

Fantastic job. It sounds beautiful, and we like the interesting facial expressions - it is good to see a performer get lost in the music.

Thank you very much for posting! Every voice follows a clean and sonor line, but still the whole piece is one. Great done! I think, the venue is brillant for a clear and distinctive sound (as well as the recording gear). Even, if people don't behave as a decent audience, it's a great pleasure to see an artist play. Most of the people go to a concert to have this experience, and I think, it is one for the artist as well. A wish: Instead of music CDs more music DVDs should be produced - filmed.
