Hey Membrane556;
How about you worry about "close containing" the 1.5 billion fish that are dumped into Alaska waters each year before worrying about farms. Yeah, 1.5 billion extra salmon that eat, poop and DO breed with wild salmon.
Oh yeah, and sand filters don't work for salt water.

They're too cheap to use some pumps and sand filters and instead use this open net system.
A closed system would not only protect the wild salmon runs but also would produce healthier and higher quality farmed stock since it's no longer open to become infested with parasites.

@semtech30 ever heard of slice?

If this is true, why are the lice not killing off the contained salmon on the Farms. ???
Unlike the wild one's they are contained and unable to escape.
Besides, Fish Farms claim to be de-lousing their fish so how can lice be the blame.
Maybe do a recount on that purse seighner ??
Your all pointing fingers with little facts.

Yes , This has happened in Europe,Find out WHO owns and runs fish farms-and persecute them through some international court. Yes ?

I could not watch the part, where bears were running for food in panic, I skipped that part :-(
thank you for posting the negative consequences of fish farming. Jesus, this video is so sad. There ought to be government intervention- fish farms should be closed system operations. There should be no overlapping between the farms and the wild.

Even the provincial government's own inquiry into B.C. fish farms has recommended that all open net fish farms in B.C. be shut down or converted to closed containment.The Provincial Government has disregarded the recommendations of its own inquiry and given the go ahead for even more open net fish farms.Oviously the provincial government must have a vested interest in fish farms which is much more important to them than keeping our wild salmon stocks from going extinct.
