This is actually not a Tesla coil at all! Just an 811A for the oscillator, and a resonator. The feedback is magnetically coupled, instead of the 'normal' 3/4 turn capacitively coupled feedback. It runs at around 10Mhz. The feedback is now only 1 turn, it was 2 with the optimum performance clip in the last video/setup. Everything else is the same as my last video, but this time it is 120v input to the power supply transformer (~2kv, halfwave).

Oh, and i don't know where the hell those flowers and stuff came from :P

  • 811 Amps OMG! How did you do that? You know I would like to build a simple high voltage supply, and although my training is in computers I am afraid of doing something stupid.

  • 811A is the name of the vacuum tube i used to create the oscillations (at 10MHz) required to drive the resonator, which gives the output.

If you only know about computers, do not attempt high voltage. You could hurt or kill yourself instantly.

  • @triggerhappy77707 Ozone is generated when there is UV light. Apparently yours doesn't generate much UV-light.

  • @triggerhappy77707

i'm very happy for you, that yours survied, i've been doing research and planning, i plan to make remake vacuum tubes.

  • @ubuntupokemoninc 811a's definitely aren't shit, i love them! Shipping tubes is always very risky. Tubes are not only usually old, but they have very fragile filaments and grids. Tubes from China are not the highest quality, anyway. however, this tube, and all of my other 811As i have had (and this GU-81M) where from China, and iirc they all worked upon arrival. However, i have received some tubes from people on 4hv and they where DOA, but they where tubes that are known to be fragile and old.

  • @Meizirkki Due to the inherent frequency, there is not even enough ozone generated to notice. However, most other Tesla coils do. I guess it has something to do with the heat of the spark or something, i never understood why that is.

  • @Meizirkki Yea i didn't know how over-used it was when i made the video.

  • whats the schematic?

    will it work with gu-5b,

I'm still gonna try it on my shitty 811a tubes :P

  • @ChrisKarr

    Don't buy 811a's there shit!

I bought 2 from china and the grids were shorted to the filament!

  • Careful, you could set the atmosphere on fire and turn us into a fireball.

  • I want the schematic TH.

My turn to ask for the favor. Very cool. I think you need to repost this in slo mo, the flickering is intense but too fast to really perceive fully. Love it though!

    Chris...what's up dude!

  • I see, its starting to make more sense. Vacuum tube huh I thought they stopped making those. Or is this some kind of tube used for some special application? As far as the fear factor is concerned well nothing ventured nothing gained. thanks for responding.
