Swinging up Bareback

Meet TT, the good old slightly aged mare where I ride.
No she is not short, I am tall. She's about 15.2? but my long legs make her look short. But still, that does make it slightly easier for me to do this! Though with my scoli maybe it evens out, I probably hurt myself doing this. rofl.

Finally!! i watched about ten or more vids sayig "how to mount a horse baareback" and everyone fails :/ your the first one ive seen who can do it :) its great aint it, i love doing it :D

@chloecindy99 Use a rope. Simply tie or hold the rope round her neck not tight but enough to give you grip. You can also hold her

@MrsilovejessieJ You can use a loose rope or/and holde the horses fetlock lightly. Before you try swing on without anything you should use a blanket girth.

My horse canters as soon as i get on. I wouldnt like to try this without a bit xD. He is getting better though.

Hiyaa, I wanna learn to do this, but I has a major problem.... My pony has a hogged mane... How can I get on her this way??

@Jubber08 auw i'm glad! also note my handposition, its just what worked for me, i moved my hands around a lot and if i remember correctly i put them as low as possible while still having plenty of mane, i'd have to look at vid again. i hope you get it!

I lovee TT too, she's the old woman. I would probably not try this on Apryl, she's just not quite steady enough hahaha

@Jubber08 oh also make sure you're standing back by their head, holding mane the whole time, right from the start. you really need to be far back

@Jubber08 hey! just take a big springing step back with your right foot, push off and land on your left jumping off it and simulateously pull up with your arms. once you get it you'll be amazed, its super easy onceyou get the feeling down for it. i t hink a lot of it comes from just GOING for it with all your might, are jumping high enough, holding on tight, and have a horse that will not care even if you bang into them, you'll be able to do it and be safe. always wear a helmet and safe shoes!
