Even the greatest closer of all time, Mariano Rivera, knows his path to future baseball immortality is one shaped by the sacrifices of the man he is proud to share his number with. Jackie Robinson, who broke baseball's color barrier, paved the way not only for African Americans in baseball, but for all minorities unable to play in the Major League. Now, 63 years after Robinson's first game, the Yankees, along with every other major league team, honors his memory on "Jackie Robinson Day." Rivera, who is proud to be the final player to don 42 calls this ability a "privilege," one Rivera "Thanks God for." He, along with Yankees Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson, explain their immense pride in playing on the anniversary of the historic day that changed the world.
