LSU QB commit Russell Shepard wins Houston TD Club POY award Wednesday, Dec. 10th 2008.

He passed for 1,843 yards and 20 touchdowns and threw just four interceptions in 12 games for the 2008 season. On top of that, he was the Rams leading rusher with 1,946 yards and 28 touchdowns. His most noteworthy performance of 2008 came last week in a 55-48 loss to Copperas Cove in the Class 5A-Division II Region II semifinals. Shepard threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 311 yards and three scores.
